A bit of clever recycling here: Wild Things are knit out of wool recycled from old sweaters. Their sweet faces and soft bodies are great for little kids to snuggle up with, and we love the idea of sweater wool being reused. These woolly friends are handknit by a New England handicapped artist collective.
Wild Things Recycled Sweater Stuffed Animals are $26.00, and because of the nature of the materials used, there will be color variations.
We had never thought of unraveling an old sweater for the knitting wool before, but this is inspiring us to take a second look at our winter clothing before we just donate it to a charity shop.

So cute! Except for the mane though they appear to be sewn out of old sweaters instead of unraveling and re-knitting. I want time to make that elephant!

Agree with Ariel. Depending on the method the sweater is assembled, too, it can be a real PITA to reclaim the yarn, if it's even possible. It's easiest with hand-knit sweaters, and fun! I like to look at the sweaters at the thrift-store for this.
