Room Tours: Two Rooms in Sweden

2007-08-13-cookie1.jpg

The perfect eye candy for a Monday morning. The folks at Cookie Magazine are showing off the beautiful rooms of Tovalisa and Otto Gothenburg, ages nine and six and the children of designer Elisabeth Dunker Gothenburg. They reside in a spacious old apartment in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Tovalisa's room is clean and bright. Her favorite spot is at the windows. The dresser is from Elisabeth's mother, the bedspread is vintage, and the bed is from IKEA...

We love this orange and white wallpaper. It's from the Swedish company Sandberg and was designed by artist Charlotta Sandberg.

Otto's room also feels bright and airy, and he has plenty of floor space for playing. The colors seem similar to Tovalisa's room, although Otto would prefer black or blue walls with Spiderman posters. We love the clean look of the beautiful wood floors and primarily white walls. It leaves plenty of room for adding color in the furniture and accessories.

Thanks for sharing these great pics Cookie Magazine.

I have been trying to find those baskets up on top of the armoire for about 2 years... Can find round versions of them everywhere, but not square or rectangular, which is better for storage. Romp used to have them, but they can't get them anymore...

I love these two rooms. Especially the no "Spiderman posters" and lack of plastic toys. (Although, if my son wants Spiderman I might have to give in since it is his room. I am sure we can find a compromise though.)

Thanks for the inspiration on Monday morning!

Yes, thank you!

Romp carried the completely square ones -- they were shorter and so could fit better in shelving systems. But these ones are much better for lining up in a row than the round baskets.

Hi-

I love the "orange and white" wallpaper and would like to consider doing a wall in our soon-to-be nursery. I visited the Sandberg site, but as I cannot read Swedish it was a bit difficult to figure out how to get in touch. Do you know of any way to contact the company in the US or the artist who used the wallpaper in her kid's room?

thanks.
