We've been waiting for this. Those clever folks at Skip Hop, designers of things like this, this and this, have created Playspot. This soft surface playmat finally gives parents a stylish choice beyond the ubiquitous ABC and 123 playmats that have wrecked so many living rooms turned playrooms.

The color combinations are pleasing - pink and brown, brown and gold, and brights. Playspot is made of EVA foam. $79 for 20 tiles.
