The Jardine Crib sold at Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us has been recalled. Apparently, there have been 42 incidents of the slats and spindles breaking. As a result, there were four cases where children were trapped between the gap.

Lately, I've noticed that the majority of cribs are recalled due to problems with the spindles.
Being a completely novice, I was wondering if people can recommend any cribs that do not have any spindles?

Forgive me for ranting, but I am totally PO'd by this news. Last summer I sent back lead paint toys, now my daughter's crib/toddler bed is recalled?! This thing was not cheap. I bought a convertible crib because I planned on using it for a while, getting a voucher for another crib by the same company is worthless! I am sick of all these corporations that run our lives, and I'm sick of our government allowing them to do it.

im wondering if even though my boys crib wasnt on the recall list, but is a jardine crib, and happens to look just like the other cribs that were recalled, is it safe? i mean, just because its not white or natural colored, but instead is black.. its safe? that doesnt make any sense to me at all. i should probably talk to someone about that.

Thanks for the heads up - my son's crib IS on the recall list. I've applied for the voucher though he's headed shortly for a big boy bed.
