Baby walkers are banned in Canada (even the resale of used ones), and for good reason. Too many children have been seriously injured, or worse, in these. I am shocked that they are not illegal in the U.S., which is far more litigious than Canada. People need to be made more aware of how dangerous they can be, and not encouraged to buy them.

I wonder if you can remove the wheels on the walker? Then you could turn it into a kind of feeding/playing station that allows the baby to practice standing up and stomping in place.

Kat--wouldn't that just be a exersaucer?

The difference with exersaucers (besides the fact that they are designed to be stationary, but allow the baby to pivot inside to access toys along the tray) is that they have springs, and are probably more height adjustable than this walker.
As cute as this vintage walker is, and as ugly as modern exersaucers are, the exersaucers are still the better piece of equipment. I currently have one *decorating* my living room...

dollhouse--Probably. Just suggesting alternatives to throwing it away. It actually reminds me of the walkers my siblings and I used, except ours had a wooden frame with no wheels and the seat was basically a piece of cloth. I think taking the wheels off reduces the danger because it's more difficult to move around, but I'm not a big fan of walkers myself, so I really wouldn't know. I think, as in all things, people who buy walkers for their children need to properly supervise them.

Did anyone check out the final bid for this??? $142.29! I wonder if this post had anything to do with that...
