Etsy Find: unPaper Towels

061109-unpaper-towels.jpgFor a long time, we kept a stack of old baby washcloths (of which we seemed to have a million) in the kitchen to use in lieu of paper towels for cleaning up spills and squeegee-ing sticky kids. But when the washcloths became too worn and threadbare, we started looking around for a substitute. Etsy, as always, delivered with these fabulous unPaper Towels, which we found at the shop Athena Creates.

In the couple of weeks that we've been using unPaper Towels, we've found them to be a better paper towel substitute than baby washcloths. (Though we still stand by repurposing your baby washcloths this way as long as they hold out!) Made of 100% unbleached cotton, UnPaper towels are about the same size as a regular paper towel, and a bit thicker, so they're more absorbent than a regular paper towel, and they're definitely much easier to use when wiping hands and faces.

What we like about these cloths, too, is that in a pinch, you can also use them as lunch or picnic napkins. And when they're waiting to be used, they look pretty spiffy neatly folded in a little wooden crate next to the sink.

$10.20 for a set of 13 at Athena Creates
