How To: Make a Rocking Horse Stool

rocking_horse_stool.jpgIt's Green @ Home month here at AT, and we're thinking about the three Rs. Understandably, this nifty rocking stool made of repurposed carpet samples caught our eye. The stool is "a soft seat which you can ride, sit sideways on or use it as an ottoman."

The designer says that this seat would be perfect for college and university students, but we think that with the right colors, one or two of these would be a stunning -- and fun! -- addition to a kid's room.

Download the instructions to make your own stool below the jump.

The stool is the Judges Choice winner of Ample Sample 2008, which challenged members of the design community -- from students to professionals -- to come up with useful, beautiful designs incorporating the ubiquitous carpet sample.

Designer Vala Abolghasemy states that the stool is simple to make. There's only one way to find out. Collect 40 carpet samples and download the instructions. Let us know how it goes.
