I still love to color in coloring books or just scrap paper. I love the smell of crayons all day.

My Fisher Price Little People house (the aqua and yellow one with the white carry handle, not the Tudor). My old one was damaged by a disobedient hamster who'd been allowed to play inside (many years after I had gone to college and without my knowledge), but I found a mint one on ebay (and a lot of 7 African American Little People to live in it!). I'm pleased to report that, so far, it's also my daughter's favorite toy (besides my iPhone). She's only 10 months old, but she likes open it up and to ring the doorbell. Keeps her entertained for a good 10 minutes!

My son has it now and he loves it.

oh, how i loved Lincoln Logs!! my sister and i would spend hours making zoos and farms with cabins with all our plastic animals and fences. also loved the Lite Brite (used black construction paper to make our own designs) & Tinker Toys. we weren't allowed to have Barbies because my mom thought they would convey a negative body image for young girls. probably the same reason my daughter doesn't have Barbies!

I had a toy set similar to Erector Sets, I remember getting very upset when mom did not buy me one with a motor (I was 5). I used to make houses, cars, moto-homes, etc. for my sister's dolls. I also made doll furniture, clothes, dishes, ets from different construction sets, scraps, trash. I even taught myself to crochet.

I've got a camera Smena 8m (http://www.camerapedia.org/wiki/LOMO_Smena_8m) for my 6th (or 7th) Birthday, that was very cool. I still have photos of my kindergarten classmates in play!!!

Oh yeah, Legos are the absolute best.

Legos and the Etch-A-Sketch

As a child, I loved Lego and Fisher Price Little People too. Now, with my toddler, I love all the Brio push and pull alongs we have given her. My favourite being the dachshund with its springy tail!

I was a LEGO child and I can not wait to get my son to play with them. The possibilities are endless nowdays. But I have to say, my husband got his Brio set from his family back and now I am buying all different bits for my son's set and am hooked myself in playing with Brio, so totally get the editor. My son is only 15 months, so can't play with them very much yet. But I am hoping by Christmas I can build an entire train set with his Brio, with lake and river and when he wakes up the next morning, he can walk all over it. :-)

Lincoln Logs and Little People Zoo. Also loved playing "house" with my kitchen set.

I loved kitchen sets and playing restaurant - there are so many cute options now with the wooden sushi and fun pots & pans.

silly puddy, play doh....is it a wonder i grew up to be a clay artist?!!? oh and light brights were the best, when i moved out of my parents house we were still finding the little pegs. 2XL learning toy (1978) i love his silly voice.....

LEGO, played it with my sister till we were 18 !

However, I'm hating the new designs. There's no basic "bricks" anymore, everything is supposed to go exactly where the blueprint says, and you can't use your creativity as much.

So, I'd say 1980's legos.
