Organizing and Displaying Stuffed Animals

2009-10-21-animals.jpg

We're fans of pretty much everything Courtney of Two Straight Lines comes up with. She recently shared with readers her simple yet terrific idea for storing stuffed animals.

They're just the kind of toy that falls to the very bottom of toy bins just when your child absolutely needs it. What to do? Courtney stores her sons vast collection of stuffed animals and hanging canvas shoe and sweater organizers. We love this idea. Not only are they stored away, but they are organized so your child can find what he's looking for and they make a great display.

This is a fantastic idea, but that child has more stuffed animals than necessary. I was a HUGE lover of stuffed animals as a kid, and at my peak I probably had half the number of these... and at least a third I'd forget about until mom brought it out for some reason or another (cleaning, give to a thrift store, etc.).

We repurposed an old CD tower for my daughter's stuffed animals. We attached it to the wall with furniture straps and stuffed it silly with little critters. We all love it and get compliments on it during most playdates. :) You can see photos here: http://make-happy.blogspot.com/2009/10/repurposing-cd-tower-to-stuffy-holder.html

1 of those holders should be enough for any child! - 4 is simply over-indulgence!!

Wow, thanks for everyone's input (or should I call it judgement?) on my parenting! My son buys most of his stuffed animals himself with his $5 allowance, and he often gets them as gifts because everyone knows he loves them so.

But, at least he has good manners ;)

You know, some kids just love stuffed animals and people give tons of them for gifts so frankly people should just lay off.
