Ikea Odda Storage Unit with Clothes Tree

2008-09-17-odda.jpg

We braved the crowds at the newly opened Brooklyn Ikea this past weekend. Amidst the bickering couples, indecisive roommates and children hyped up on Lingonberry soda, we spied this cool storage unit with attached clothes tree.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the larger drawer has a cut-out above which makes it perfect for a child's hamper or toy box. The clothes tree holds anything from scarves to towels to robes, but we kind of like it left unused as a sculptural element. The Odda storage unit sells for $200.

You can see the whole Odda series here, but we particularly like the large storage box with casters above ($80) and the bedside table below ($50).

Would love it if they just had a coat/clothes tree without the storage area!

I just saw that coat tree at the Portland (Oregon) Ikea and it wasn't attached to anything. At least I think it was. I think it was around $100 or so. I might be wrong but it's worth checking out if you really want it.

Correction: "at least I *don't* think it was"
