apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Limited Edition Billy Bookcase

101209ikeabilly.jpgHappy Birthday Billy. As this ubiquitous shelving option turns thirty this year, two special limited edition designs will be available from October 1 until January 31, 2010, or until they run out- whichever comes first!

The designer of the special editions, Annika Bryngelson, says she "wanted to make a practical piece of furniture that was also a work of art that makes you feel happy."

The first design is a graffiti-esque design of Shakespeare quotes; the other is a colorful design inspired by Japanese manga.

What do you think? Something for the kids' room? More info and photos here.

We were at IKEA yesterday and saw the graffitti ones. I don't think they will sell to anyone besides teenagers or hipster adults. Shakepeare or not, they hurt my eyes and don't fit into most decor.

The manga ones i might have an interest in, i like the colors from what i can see in the photo but they didn't have them too look at up close.
