Young Zoe and her father created "The Flying Nightstand" to address one of the functional shortcomings of occupying the top bunk. Now she's got a place for a book and some water. Brava, Zoe!

Wow, if I had owned one of these as a freshman dorm dweller, I wouldn't have broken my toes as I leapt out of bed to answer the phone!

After my fateful incident, I bought some of the old-fashioned cupholders that you used to put in cars before cars had cupholders. I lined them along the rail for important items that need to be within arms' reach (like the phone). Zoe's creation has far more style, though!

smart! i mounted a shelf on the wall next to my son's loft bed, but this is more versatile.
