This structure, Kids' House, reminds us of an indoor fort or treehouse. What kid (or adult for that matter) wouldn't want a little privacy or reading or napping nook in their home? It was designed by Londoner Nina Tolstrup of Studiomama who envisions it as both a space for play and for sleep.

There's not much else available about her design except she notes that it's constructed of mdf with blackboard on one side and Lego panels on the other (oh how we wish there were a photo of the Lego panels).

She also designed the minuscule (388 sq. ft.), efficient beach house below. Visit Studiomama for more photos and information.

My boss has something like that---she lives in a huge loft in Soho that she bought back in the 1970s. When she first bought it, there wasn't any heat, so she and her boyfriend built a "cabin" at one end that they could heat easily with electric heaters to act as their bedroom and their living space for cold days. The cabin is still there, it's still their bedroom, but the loft is completely renovated and beautiful, including the cabin.

I'd love to know more about the sea life art in the background in the first picture.
Are they all originals?

Oh. And I have the photo of the lego panels... it was in the magazine. It was basically like 4 of those gray panels attached to the side.
