They are dreadfully suburban and bourgeois compared to the fabulously sophisticated European cardboard houses above, but my daughter has always enjoyed decorating and playing with the houses/carriers that stuffed animals from Build-a-Bear come in. And they are free with purchase of a $15 toy.
