What inspired you?
"Living in Buffalo winters can be long, cold, and grey, so we wanted to create a room that was warm and inviting.

Moving into our home 3 weeks before delivery meant resources were tied up in closing, moving, and maternity leave. Consequently, we "shopped at home" first, fabric stores second."

"Metro shelving we already owned became a changing/storage station with a little sewing finesse and fabric. The folk art painting above the crib came from our hallway and added some sophisticated whimsy, the diaper stacker was whipped up to store our handmade crib sheets (scraps left over from the sheets went into the pennant garland), and vintage linens became cushions to sweet little folding chairs purchased from a rummage sale."

One great tip: "Shop at home first. Perhaps you have an unused/underutilized piece of furniture or item in you house that can be better used in the nursery. Or recycle those bed linens that no longer match your room decor into crib sheets and more for the little one. Just look around you, the perfect item may be right under your nose in your own home!"

VikulyaD, we made the giraffe diaper bag from a sketch Walter4 did.

jp in DC, the bookcase is the ubiquitous Expedit from IKEA.

molly h, yep, that's the Gulliver!

Hope that helped!

I spot what looks like the Target stuffed lamb I recommended in the comments of an Easter post on this very site! I looked for them after Easter was over but they were so wonderfully soft and fluffy, they had all been grabbed up.

Beautiful colors! Good job.
