Pottery Barn Kids. I know that it doesn't sound too creative, but we got a great discount from a friend who is a Pottery Barn employee (during a refer-a-friend weekend). The crib bedding, valance and rug with the lambs are from Pottery Barn as well as the changing table and crib. The crib converts to a toddler bed and the changing table into a bookshelf/dresser. The bedding for the twin bed is a mix-match from old linens. The glider and ottoman are from Target and were a lifesaver through the late night feedings and to rock our son to sleep. I have recommended the Target glider to several friends and family members and they all preferred this glider over other more expensive ones. Due to the lack of storage space, I got several baskets from Marshalls (at a great price!) to organize clothes, diapers, and toys.

What inspired you?

I wanted to make the nursery for our son a place of rest so I was inspired by lambs which represent peace and gentleness to me.

We actually redid the nursery after our son was born as our boy is extremely active and just does not like to sleep unlike his parents. He would only take 10-20 minute naps and refused to go to bed at night so any type of stimulation before sleep would keep him awake for hours. Hence, we chose light and tranquil colors for the room.

Great Tip:

We used the larger bedroom of the two for the nursery so that we could double it as a guestroom, and also to take turns sleeping in the room when our son is teething or sick. The smaller or smallest room in the house is often used as the nursery but it doesn't have to be a hard rule. A larger room can be used for the nursery so that it can be used as a playroom or in our case, a guestroom. If we remove the twin bed from the room, we can turn that corner into a play area for our son.
