Reprodepot. We got the barkcloth for the nursery curtains there, as well as fabric to line toy baskets.
What inspired you?
Simply put…three paper lanterns inspired us. We loved the way the orange, blue, and green lanterns looked together and we choose the Palladian blue walls and coral trim to complement them.
We didn’t know the gender of our baby when we designed the room, and we wanted a fun, colorful, imaginative room that would work for our baby, regardless of whether we had a boy or girl. Although the room is very small and we wanted it to be simple, we also wanted to incorporate artwork, lots of books and toys (many from our own childhood), and the rocking chair from Dakota’s childhood nursery.
One tip:
Don’t feel like you must have a ‘theme’ in mind when you are choosing a design for a nursery…we think a simple inspiration is best. Besides, parents have no idea what interests their children will have as they grow…what if your child isn’t a Winnie the Pooh kind of person? Let your child reveal themselves to you over time and create a space that allows that.
It's beautiful and I LOVE the lanterns, but it's a teensy bit cluttered for my taste! Can I ask where the crib is from?

So good-looking and non commercial, love that. I adore your lanterns, I also used lanterns in my daughter's nursery. I like the look of the cabinetry next to shelves. Are they built-in custom or furniture? Also may I ask a source on the prints above the crib? Congratulations on creating a space where a creative child will grow!

I LOVE the Nikki McClure prints. I tried to find the "Examine the Food Chain" print for our daughter's area, but wasn't able to find it at buyolympia or anywhere else. Do you know if it's still available?

Yup, the crib is Ikea Tassa - we have the same one. Baby is 2 weeks old and hates sleeping in the crib or pack n play. Loves sleeping next to Mommy and me.

So beautiful! I love this space for a wee one, but the best part is that it's a space that will be a nice refuge for an adult too. So many nurseries look like spaces that only a kid would want to hang out in.

Hi...just wanted to answer a few of the questions...
The cabinetry is built in...my husband built the shelves and mini closet in order to close off a doorway to the kitchen. This room was originally a really small dining room/kitchen nook and we wanted to create a bedroom/nursery instead.

Love this room - great combination of modern and child-friendly cheerful! We are thinking of finishing a playroom for our daughter in our basement in this color scheme. do you remember where you found the lanterns? Maybe they're easier to find in the US than here in Canada - but I'd love to include them - and we're just north of you in BC and could probably wander south to buy them...
