All my baskets came from the Container Store. They are used for baby clothes since the nursery has no closets and I needed something cute and sturdy that would go nicely in the room. The bookshelves are the main storage but I didn't want them looking too cluttered, so uniform color baskets turned out to be the best solution.
What inspired you?
I was inspired by the color blue and the beautiful view out the window of the nursery. It was previously a dining alcove 11' 6" x 7' 9". I had a wall of bookshelves built when I moved in. So, I hired a contractor to build a wall separating the living room from the alcove and put in a door to the living room and a door to the kitchen. He also filled in the space around the kitchen door with opaque textured glass and he built a changing table that folds down from the shelves.
Looks beautiful... but the stuff on the shelves will be mighty tempting to a toddler ;-)

I appreciate that it is designed for the parents as well as the baby. Although it may be a good idea to put doors on some of the shelves to limit clutter and junior's reach.

Really like that wall of shelves. Highly adaptable and treats the room's proportions as an asset, as a unique feature. Just a fantastic use of the space. And your color choices allow the toys to stand out. As for the toddler tendancy to pull things off shelves, we've had good luck organizing the shelves in our apt so anything within reach or at eye level is meant to be played with or looked at, and then put back. So your wall of shelves is definitely an idea I'm holding on to as we work on updating our daughter's room.

Thanks for the comments. The light is from yLighting and is called the Fly. The shelves I had built originally for my books when I first moved in and then just kept them up for Gregory's clothes and stuff. The photos make it look more cluttered then it actually is. Infact it is so much cuter in person, oh well. I try to limit the amount of stuff I put on the shelves (even though we have so many things for this little guy) to minimize dust.
