Baby to Be's Watermelon Smoothie Nursery
Small Kids, Big Color Entry #10

thumbs up

Name: Baby to Be
Age: Coming in January
Location: Camarillo, California

Color Inspiration: When I originally found out I was pregnant my plan was to make the babies room grey and fill it with the circus items I've been collecting from other countries over the years... BUT after finding out it was another girl I couldn't help but go really girly.

Give Tammy & her baby to be a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!

Tip For Using Color: Don't be afraid of color. If you have a really bright or bold color, don't find it necessary to do the entire room. Just do an accent wall or two, or a bookcase.

Colors Used: For the paint, Glidden-Watermelon Smoothie and Crisp Linen
For the fabrics used for the crib, curtains, closet, and birds, Kaffee brand fabrics.

The best entry so far! What a darling room with a great overall color story, mix of prints & patterns, and not just close-up shots of colorful accessories like in some of the other entries. I LOVE the fabric!!

The Kaffe Fassett fabrics (made by Rowan I believe) are gorgeous -- you have inspired me to make a quilt for my daughter! Have you been collecting them for a long time? What is your source?

Beautiful! I love this room! The fabrics are mouthwatering. I noticed the little indentation, low on the wall, where you've placed some little books. That's a great spot for small books, but what about also hanging a chalkboard in that space? (or painting it with colored chalkboard paint?) Just an idea from a fellow mom. :)

Good luck in the challenge! Congrats on your baby!

Love the color - what a punch! Where did you find the library display bookshelf to the right of the rocker? I've been looking all over for one!

Great room! I have been wanting to do a real tree branch in my daughter's room. I'd LOVE to see the rest of the branch. Could you please share a pic of that? THANKS!
