Finn's Inherited Blue Nursery
Small Kids, Big Color Entry #11

thumbs up

Name: Finn
Age: 13 months
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Color Inspiration: My family and I live in a rented house, which means we're not allowed to paint and that the blue wall color in Finn's room was inherited. Even though I didn't choose it I wanted to make the best of it. I took the blue and filled it out with accessories.

Give Alison & Finn a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!

Tip For Using Color: Even renters can make the most of the color they inherit. Find color inspiration from a toy or accessory and run with it.

Colors Used: Behr Colbalt Glaze 570B-7

Does anyone know where I can get a changer like that to fit on top of a crib? That looks like a great organizational solution in our new baby's bedroom!

Weird that they wouldn't let you paint over such a dramatic color. But good job working around it!

Great, great job working with that color and finding other colorful things to coordinate with it. I do like the blue-it pops and is not the "traditional" baby blue you see in some nurseries.

Gorgeous room...you totally made the blue work.

Now...I NEED to know where you found those fabulous curtains (or the fabric to make them with). Love the vibrant colors and mod design! Well done.

The traditional afghan's geometric lines go great with all the contemporary fabrics and paint treatments. I love this room. Barb in Iowa

Thanks again for the comments everyone, I really appreciate all the feedback.

The Chair is from room and board, I don't think they make that style any more but they have tons of other great furniture.

The Curtains are from Ikea, you can buy them in panels and them hem them to size.

Love the vintage Little People! My mom sold all mine at a garage sale and they were always my favorite toys! I also love the toy shelving. Is that vintage too?

Totally adorable and so creative. Who would have thought that you were working with an old paint job. This room is a winner...Now, tell me, does it always stay this neat??? Loved the picture of Finn reading.
