AWESOME! A stunner. Best in contest for sure. Not DIY but there are so many easy to copy ideas in here--colorful ceiling, repeating patterns in different areas. Bravo!

I'm sorry, I don't like this one (which may mean that I have horrible taste).

Beige and pink, floral pattern from the 70's... not my cup of tea. The room feels cluttered and smaller than it is. The colors seem to me a bit too present for a child's room.

But I can't deny how bold the color choices were...

I do like it, but it looks a little too "designed" for my taste. Doesn't look like an actual child lives here. More like a catalogue page (but a nice one!).

Very pretty but also very obviously high end professionally decorated. That's not an insult, it just looks like the room a celebrity child. I gave it a thumbs up but I'm not sure it's fair play.

I agree with some of the other comments. While the color palette in this room is truly delightful (I gave it a thumbs up - how could you not?), it does seem overly sophisticated. This room would be divine for a 16-year old, but for a 4-year-old? I completely get designing a room that can grow with your child but this is a bit much. Also, I much prefer a DIY-angle, and this screams expensive designer showroom. I would be terrified of markers and juice coming within yards of this space.

i love that this room is not a prissy "girlie" room but still very much a girl's room! Lily picking out these fabrics demonstrates a very good eye for color. . .she's an artist in the making!

This is lovely. However, this isn't a contest for people who hired designers, is it? I thought the contest was for people who designed the rooms themselves.

Might as well have a contest for professional designers.

um, kurt, pointing out that they have a separate bedroom and playroom is not really helping out the undercurrent of class warfare here. for those of us who can't hire designers to prettify our toddler's bedrooms, I think it would be fair to say that many of us also don't have the pleasure of having a separate playroom. I can barely squeeze a bedroom of my own out of our tiny pad let alone a playroom. So duh right back atcha.

When people work like dogs and are ubber talented at what they do, and are paid accordingly, they deserve to live well and have a house with as many rooms as they like. It's not at all a put down of people with smaller spaces. Picking on the rich is the same as picking on anyone else. This house has a playroom, a reading room and a staff. And it's still beautifully designed and deserves accolades for that on a design site that welcomes all. How did a simple design contest turn into class warefare? Good design is good design and the submission meets all the requirements. Anyone who would not acknowledge the work and talent that went into this space based on higher budget just doesn't get what this is all about.

look kurt, i'm not calling into question this room's right to be in the contest -- it's striking and well put together and while not to my taste entirely, it's gotten lots of votes, so who cares what I think. I gather from the exchanges that you are the designer, so kudos. I don't really want to get into an argument about what people 'deserve' or the assumed equation between hard work and high pay -- i haven't noticed much correlation between those two things in my life or anyone around me, or in the world as a whole, but if the whole capitalist dream is working out for you god bless.

Love this pink/orange hued bedroom. As a designer who used lots of color for fun, sophistication, longevity and personality, I appreciate the multi colors in the is girl's room.

A Saarinen womb chair for a 4 year old? Really? But I have to say this room is gorgeous. I am in love with that floral fabric. Love the floor cushions as well. Lily is a very lucky little girl. It's a great room that will grow with her.
