Scarlet's "Girly Not Frilly" Nursery
Small Kids, Big Color Entry # 3

thumbs up

Name: Scarlet
Age: 18 months
Location: Los Angeles, California

Color Inspiration: My daughter is girly but not frilly, when we moved I wanted her room to reflect that! I also blog about DIY projects for small fries at Prudent Baby so I did a ton of DIY projects to make her room special.

Give Jaime and Scarlet a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!

Tip For Using Color: Make sure it's a color you love and that reflects your child's personality. Try not to get hung up on making everything match...your kid will get gifts and fall in love with items that don't match your decor and that's great, celebrate it!

Colors Used: The color scheme is yellow, gray with splashes of bright pinks and purples to reflect her brightness in what is otherwise a dark room. The wall color I had color matched to the piece of Julia Rothman's Daydream wallpaper from Hyge and West that's in the frame.

I love the print on your storage bins, did they come that way, or did you cover them? I would love to know where to get them!

Can someone tell me the name of the purple horse-like riding toy? I've seen them before, and would like to get one for my toddler for Christmas, but can't remember what they are called.

Love the room, the colors are bright and pretty but not babyish or silly. I adore the wall color and the framed wallpaper--did you buy a wallpaper sample and frame it?

Any chance you're still reading these comments Jamie? Because I am so in love with that bright yellow baroque frame. I can't seem to find anything like that anywhere. Please don't tell me you thrifted it and then painted it! Because my thrift stores apparently only like ugly plastic mauve frames from that 80s.
