Tad's Retro Fabric Inspired Nursery
Small Kids, Big Color Entry #2

thumbs up

Name: Tad (as in Tadpole)
Age: 7 months (in utero)
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Color Inspiration: My husband and I wanted to shy away from traditional blues and pinks with our kiddos. I had seen some amazing nurseries on OhDeeDoh and took my inspirations from there and retro-flavored fabrics.

Give Janna & Tad a THUMBS UP if you think this room belongs in the finals!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!

Tip For Using Color: Don't be afraid! When the kiddo pops out it won't have any idea that a girl is "supposed" to have pink!

Colors Used: Ace Hardware; Lemon Drop for the top. The bottom was a "oops" paint that I found at Home Depot.

The room looks lovely! Can you tell me where you found your crib? I love it!

We found our crib on super clearance at Babies R Us - Carter's Casual Convertible Crib. It has a set that allows it to change into a toddler bed and later a full size bed.

I'm a HUGE fan of handmade and most of the textiles in the room were things that I wanted, but not with the price tag. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right?

You have a keen eye for decorating. Choosing a lot of visual pieces without over-crowding the room. Well done!

I agree with Willydad, plenty of color and cute bedroom characters. What a lucky child.

You've given me something to think about! I love how you've made it girly but not overly "in-your-face". And I agree with Warnerfan, a lucky child indeed!

I love the room...but it will be so much better when occupied! I can't wait for the little munchkin to get here!

darling quilt. Love the color of yellow on the wall, too. The green rug looks cozy with the yellow and red in the room too.
