Whose Room is This?: William, 3 months old
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Family: William, Mom Emily and Dad
Room Size: 126 square feet
Division: Baby
Tip for Living Small with Kids: We certainly are not experts since we only have a three month old, but we have tried to only buy what we needed and could fit in our home. We are already packing up his little newborn clothes and storing to make room as he grows.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in putting together this room? Although the room is actually quite large, it had three doors that opened into it, and it is one of only 5 rooms in our house (counting the bathroom). We wanted to utilize the floor space well so that we could continue to use parts of the room, including the closet, for our clothes and books. We took off the closet door, added a curtain, and hung a peg board. We use the peg board for all of the baby's hanging clothes and also for the diaper bag, etc. to keep clutter off of the floor. We also left the book shelf and a chest in the room. The room, previously a guest room/study, was already decorated with maps, so we tried to incorporate these into the nursery. I guess our favorite resource was simply being resourceful...we tried to use things we already had in our room or make things ourselves.

Nice room. Where did you get the beautiful zebra carpet?

I think it's the same rug from Target (their Dwell baby collection) that's in Lila Sage's room:

Love the bright green accents -- very cheery!

Thanks for all the thumbs up. Yes, the zebra rug is from the Dwell baby collection from Target. I wish I could help with paint color, but we painted the room a couple of years ago and now can't read the color on the paint lid. Apparently we didn't close the lid well and the paint mildewed. We've been trying to match it ourselves and haven't had any luck. We know that it's Valspar from Lowe's.

How did you use the peg board to hang clothes? This seems a brilliant idea because peg board can be easily extended to other uses when the baby grows bigger!

I really like your drapes. Did you sew them yourself? And the frames are so cute! Very well done.

Thanks! I did not actually sew the drapes myself, but my mom did! And, to answer a previous question, we got the peg board at Lowe's, painted it, and bought some of the hooks, etc. to hang clothes on...very inexpensive!
