Songbird Chandelier

bird101709.jpg

Remember the Birdcage Chandelier we featured previously? We just found another bird-themed lighting option that would look great in a child's space.

It's the Songbird Chandelier from Anthropologie. The shade is actually a copper wire structure adorned with colorful finches, lories and parakeets. The bad news is that it retails for $798. Definitely inspirational, if not affordable. Available here. Want to make your own version? Check out this $15 DIY project that looks remarkably similar by Danny Seo.

It is lovely but I agree that it is way too expansive for a kid room. It could be cute for the mom who has her own girlie dressing room.

oh my. inspiration, for sure - something like this would be a big improvement over my current living room lampshades, which are held on with clothespins (warning, this photo is embarrassing):

I like the DIY better than the $798 one.
