Survey: Black and White Nursery

2007-01-29-tadpoles.jpg

The current rage for black and white in the home has got us tickled pink. But some diehard fans of this color scheme stop short of decorating the nursery in black and white because it's too stark, irreverent, non-traditional, boring...Do you think this hot trend has a place in the nursery?

I work with visually impaired children. In the first few years of life vision development stimulates brain development. In, the first few months of a child's life black and white are the colors a child sees best. So, I think that this is a very worthwhile trend as long as designers design from a child-centered developmentally appropriate viewpoint, and not just from a style-centered, "what design-conscious-parents-will-want-to-buy" viewpoint.
