If furniture were haircuts, this table would be a mullet - business in the front, party in the back. In this case, kid-friendly laminate on one side, adult-friendly oak on the other.

Blu Dot came out with the Flip Me table in 2001, but the Nursery wasn't around then and we think it's worth showing you now. From what we understand, the table is no longer in production, but is still available from several retailers.
The concept behind the Flip Me is something we'd like to see more of. A lot of parents (and pet owners) are torn between whether to buy cheap, disposable furniture that they won't mind seeing get a little wear and tear or to invest in higher quality pieces and hope for the best. We still remember our sister accidentally engraving part of her homework into our family's antique dining room table - it's sort of sweet now, but upset our parents at the time.
What do you think of the Flip Me?
That is money well spent. Although, the little cuts and groves on the kitchen table at my parents house is wonderful... years of homework, knocks and spills....... I sort of want the bruises.

I'm just giggling at the "business in the front, party in the back" refrence to mullets. You hit the nail on the head!

I want something like this for a kitchen island--maple on one side, marble on the other. It would need pneumatic assistance to flip it, but a girl can dream, can't she?
