Propello Table Fan

propello-fan.jpgFor obvious reasons, we've been eyeballing child-safe fans lately. When we saw this little number in a roundup on AT:LA, we wondered if perhaps our search was over.

The exposed blades seem incongruous with the idea of kid-friendliness, but the manufacturer states that the soft, natural rubber blades are harmless to the touch. (It goes without saying that we'd place the fan out of reach of small fingers, but still, if you've got a climber in your home, better to be extra-safe than sorry.) In addition, the Propello's small footprint (10" by 7") and "virtually silent" motor make this an attractive option for a child's bedroom or playroom.

I love this fan! It would look great in any room in my house and it isn't one of those items you can only use when your kids are little.

It may be finger-safe, but exposed blades can still wrap up a child's hair. I would get a cage-enclosed fan if I were you.

That's a good point, Aimi, one I hadn't considered since my toddler has very short hair and my three-month-old is a baldy. But parents of longer-haired kids take note!
