The lacquer applied to them is also non-toxic so no worries there. A variety of these toys, from traditional to educational, including pull-toys, stackers, and even music makers are available on the Earthentree Website, and at affordable prices, any one of these would make a great stocking stuffer.
You know, I really wanted to love these, but I bought a rattle for my daughter and the coating chipped off. I am reassured that she wasn't eating chemicals, but you know, I still didn't want it to chip off in her mouth.

The shiny-ness is what attracted me to these - they just look so cool. I saw them on another blog just the other day, but when I went to their site to find out more they had 14 recalls listed and all for things like breaking into small pieces and cords being too long (strangle hazard). Want to love them so much (they have the eco-friendly aspect I love), but it just doesn't sound like they've got the "safe for babies & small kids" angle down with all those issues.
