I have no idea what that nursing ring is supposed to do.

i assume the ring is supposed to remind the nursing mom which side she nursed on last so that she can nurse on the other side next.

As if you could forget which side is full-to-bursting and which is empty...Do men invent these things?

um, actually wrenx not everyone is necessarily full-to-bursting and/or empty. I breastfed on demand for the first six months and I could *never* tell which side I had fed last on. I have over-large breasts so it could be that.

I would have loved a ring like this!

Who knew, techgrrl? I am a size that fits into a two-letter bra, and yet I could always tell by feel. However, I would never deny someone else's experience. Breast jewelry...sometimes needed, is today's lesson.

hmm... I thought the baby decides which breast to suckle.

My breasts are not very big but I could never tell which side I nursed on. I would know I nursed on the same side twice after the fact though, when the other got painful. I was never able to remember!

I could never remember which side either, until it was too late... Problem is, not only does it hurt, but the baby doesn't get the right kind of milk that way (too much foremilk, and not enough hindmilk).

Women have done all sorts of things as tricks -- e.g., switching your wedding ring from left to right, putting a clip on your bra strap,...

Frankly, I like the idea of a ring -- smaller, and something I would have been more likely to keep up with.
