Chicago Architecture Foundation Store - Kids' Items

CAF-quadpic.jpgCAFSlogopic.jpgKnown for their wonderful walking tours of downtown Chicago architecture, the Chicago Architecture Foundation also has a kooky, fun side as we spied these children's items on their online shop. Some of the items on their site are pretty quirky; here are our favorites.

If Dr. Seuss had created his own version of Legos, we think they probably would have resembled Zolo a Go Go, $32.00. 48 pieces snap together and allow your child to make their own little Dadaist creation. Zolo pieces feature black and white swirls, strong colors, unusual shapes and come with their own carrying case.

Why have your future comedian carry around a rubber chicken when they can tote a chicken purse? The Sarut Chicken Bag, $29.95, is a conversation piece if anything else.

Dodge'Em: The Desktop Dodgeball Game! The name sounds more like a movie title than a toy --- and like a movie, it makes for good rainy day fun. Dodge'Em, $22.95, features wooden kids and a tiny dodge ball. It has all the fun of dodge ball, without the pain.

Sarut's hand-powered flashlight, $12.95, is rechargeable and perfect for reading comic books under the blankets.

If your child is into stickers, this great Alphabet Stamp Stickers set, $14.95, will be well appreciated. 26 sheets of stamp-sized stickers come in a snazzy metal box.

Finally, we have EcoJot Children's Sketchbook, $10.95. The sketchbook is made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste. They come in "Owls" or "Picnic" and are as darling as they are eco-conscious.

I LOVE this store. It's a standard stop on any Chicago visit.

I had no idea they had an online storefront. Thanks!
