D-sledge

121009-sledge-1.jpgThis is clearly not your run-of-the-mill plastic sled. Designed by Dagur Oskarsson, the D-sledge is based on traditional wooden sleds that used to be common household objects in Iceland, where they were used for everything from joyriding to hauling groceries. Reimagined in fun, contemporary colors, the D-sledge is a playful homage to the past.

121009-sledge-2.jpgLike its ancestral archetype, the D-sledge is manufactured in Iceland. Unlike its forerunner, the D-sledge is cast in rugged polyethylene and comes in orange, brown and sea green.

I love it too, but I could never justify spening $83 on a sled.
