Good for constructing and deconstructing. We were quite taken with the Guidecraft CITO collection of construction of vehicles available at Target. Our favorite is the rugged Construction Bulldozer.
Guidecraft CITO Construction Vehicles
It's great for kids curious to learn about how things work. The scoop moves and allows kids to haul and lift things. The bulldozer is made of birch plywood and has hard rubber wheels. It's $74.99 at Target.
The Crane should be a hit as well although it looks like it requires a bit more dexterity to operate. It's $84.99 here. A flatbed truck is also available.

These are great. Plan Toys has some great heavy equipment toys, too, that are similarly priced. Yeah, they seem expensive compared to Fisher-Price and whatnot, but they're made using fair labour practices and safe, sustainable materials.
