Handmade Doll Clothes

2009-10-20-dollclothes.jpg

Sewing clothes for my Barbie doll was one of my first craft projects. A few outfits provided hours and hours of fun.

We just spotted these new doll clothes by Laura of Wren Handmade and we're smitten. A few pieces for an upcoming birthday or Christmas would be a great gift. We especially like the jumper dresses. If only they came in our size. Check out Laura's Etsy shop to purchase.

I wish I had the skill and the patience to make something like that for my daughter's dolls. Maybe one of these days! These are certainly lovely, but I would never, ever spend $28 on a tiny doll shirt. Nuts!

My sisters and I had the My Friend dolls by Fisher Price - Mandy, Jenny, and Becky. My mom made clothes for them and now I am making updated ones for my daughter to play with. I am using old clothes that I don't where anymore as fabric which helps to make them more modern.

I know $28 is a lot, but it takes a lot of time and attention detail to make doll clothes! That felt coat is awesome. Great post!

Those are beautifully made. My Gran made Barbie clothes for me and later young cousins lost them. I still feel sad. She was such a skilled seamstress. My son recently made a costume and I can see in him her same spatial intelligence and meticulousness, that I lack.
