Modular Doll House

2007.03.16.familyhome.jpg

Why didn't we think of this? Smart Living dollhouses incorporate lots of things we like to see in kids toys - modern design, eco-friendly wood stains, cheerful colours. What kid wouldn't want to play with this?

But the real genius behind this doll house is that it is modular.

2007.03.16.familyhome2.jpgSmart Living houses are built and rebuilt by clicking together the levels and walls, letting the kids reconfigure their house each time they play with it. And when that house gets too small, there are new rooms to purchase and add on. If only it was that easy to add a new room or two to our real homes!

The Smart Living house is $69.95 - add ons start from $7.95.

I got to "play" with this house ans while I love the design, and the modularity, I found it very hard to build... The wooden pieces are quite hard to put together and the house is not so steady once built. Great idea, but I think it could be made even better!

We really like Plan Toys dollhouses and stuff. A lot of the furniture and some of the dollhouses are very modern in design, also made sustainably. You don't put the dollhouses together, but some of the doll furniture and accessories can be assembled by the kids- for example, my 2 and 3 year old love putting together the playground set.
