We've seen play kitchens made from many different components - lots of Ikea, thrifted and found items, but we hadn't seen this idea yet. Take a close look - can you tell what common, not particularly attractive, piece of furniture Erin used to create this nifty, blue kitchen for her daughter?

Here it is - an entertainment center! This is usually the kind of unwieldy piece you're happy to unload at a garage sale or donate to the Salvation Army so Erin's friends and family probably thought she was a bit crazy to buy it on Craigslist. But she loves repurposing things and she definitely made the most of this piece.
It's hard to believe, but this was Erin's first time tackling a project with power tools (although she did get some assistance from her mom) and she estimates she only spent about $65 in the end. We love the bright blue paint and adore that she created a view out of the window.
Pay Erin at visit at Sutton Grace to see lots of photos and read more about how she took this piece from drab to fab!
so clever! looks great.

it's really a beautiful kitchen. i love the fun use of color and at only $65 and a little creativity, this is way better than any play kitchen you could buy! your little girl is so lucky - I hope she has many years of fun playing with it!

REALLY impressive!! To think about how much it costs to buy a Pottery Barn play kitchen and then see this makes me very happy!! Well made, solid, fun and has special meaning too!! What a treasure for your daughter!
