The 33 Most Ridiculous Toys

2009-01-13-toys.jpg
We try to highlight a lot of the "better" toys out there- classic toys, wooden toys, educational, imaginative toys. But there are also some strange toys out there you might remember from your own childhood days...a "Poo Poo" bear, the pogo ball, and you remember that "Sit and Spin" where you sit...and spin.

Check out the complete list over at Babble. Even the Easy Bake Oven made it on there- I don't know, we kind of liked baking those brownie-like substances under the hot lights.

I loved the sit and spin when I was a kid! My little sister and I would sit on it together and spin around until she felt sick. My sister got my little girls one last Christmas to remind me of how much fun we used to have. We also had an easy bake oven and I thought it was pretty cool too.

All those toys on that list are AWESOME! Poo themed bears, Mr T ANYTHING and or course the many hours I spent with my SwingWing...

Whoa whoa whoa. The sit and spin is NOT a ridiculous toy. Kids actually NEED to spin to help develop their sensory systems such as the proprioceptive and vestibular systems. I have mine from when I was a kid and can't wait for my girl to be old enough to use it. I loved it!

Sit-n-Spin is a cool toy, at least the original one was. I'm actually looking all over eBay to get one for my daughter.

just clicked over to see that list and i think they are way off on some.

the skip-it was awesome, me and my sister would play with that thing for hours. its also a way to get in some cardio! if i had one now i would probably still play with it!

barbie is also on the list??? i know shes controversial but definitely not ridiculous! if i have a girl i wouldnt let her play with the skanky looking barbies... but me and my sis were barbie addicts and turned out to be good girls for the most part-barbie didnt cause us any harm!

Yeah. I'm not getting their list. I had a sit and spin, and my mom bought another one for my kids at a garage sale. It's their favorite toy at her house. And I LOVED my skip it!

Come on! The sit-n-spin is an epic win! (http://onceuponawin.com/2008/12/12/epic-win-sit-n-spin/)
And I loved my pogo ball (though there, perhaps, we just have early evidence of future dorkdom?!).

I always got sick on the Sit and Spin so it wasn't good for me, but my son's day care - one attached to a university with an early childhood education department - has a bunch of them in the 1 year toddler room for the kids to play with. They love it.

My sister and I loved her easy bake oven!! We're both considered very good cooks and bakers now.

I had a pogo ball and I used if for science class when we were studying the planets in fourth grade. I painted it to look like Saturn... got an A thank you very much. I am forever indebted to my pogo ball.

Whoever put the Sit and Spin on that list obviously never had one... or possibly had an inner ear condition! I loved those things as a kid. I'd spin so long that I would still feel it hours later if I lay down. They've got to be pretty good exercise for the arms too.

I loved my pogo ball. We played with them during recess when I was in 3rd grade--what a great toy!
