Cardboard Playhouse from Anthropologie

111909playhouse.jpgWe spotted this little playhouse in the latest Anthropologie catalog. It's similar to the Color Me House we blogged about in the past, but includes the modern motif of tree branches and a few critters on the house.

Toddlers and little ones often need to take breaks in a snug little place like this, and it's also great for pretending and dreaming up all sorts of things. If a tent or a teepee was on your holiday wish list, here's another option. And we certainly wouldn't mind this hanging out in our living room.

$58 at Anthropologie.

$60 for a cardboard box . . . ? Insane.

I haven't seen this box in person but we bought a similar one a few years back when I were hosting Christmas at our very small house and needed something to entertain our then three-year-old twin nephews. It was a hit. When they got sick of coloring it, they turned it into all sorts of imaginative play. When our celebration was done, we took it down and Grandma took it home to her house for future visits. It seemed expensive for, as Griffin says, "a cardboard box," but it was well worth it in my opinion.

I can't imagine my 2 under 5 boys playing with this house for more then a week without it getting messed up and to pay that much money for it? I could make this myself, this is so overpriced.... IT'S CARDBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
