Felt Play House

2009-08-12-felthouse.jpg

Seeing this really brought back childhood memories. (Ms. McCarthy - are you out there?) Have you ever played with a felt board?

It's a mounted piece of felt with various felt cut-outs that you can use to "stick" to the board. Your children can act out different scenes from a story or create their own show. We like the idea of felt play house with furniture and accessory pieces that can be moved and rearranged again and again (perfect for the future interior designer).

You can order yours at Craftsbury Kids (either large or small size) or consider making your own.

that is pretty sweet. looks like a good one to save for a long car trip or a quiet play situation (like bringing your little one to work).

So cute!! I would have loved playing with this as a kid. There was always something special about the felt board, though I'm not quite sure what! I'm willing to be bet my 2 little girls would love this as well.

I can't wait to make this for our children's library! What a great "toy" for the kids. We use felt boards durring story time and the kids would love to tell their own stories with this one!

This sparked a sudden rememberance of a childhood favorite - felt books, with various scenes and lots of little felt cut outs to go in the scenes. I had several, and I think they were made by a relative. I'd completely forgotten about them. Thank you for the memory.

MrsCatbird, I had a great felt book too!
My mum made it for me, the pages had shoelaces to lace, buckles to do up, all kinds of fasteners and pockets to figure out. I was fantastic. I think it may have been lost to a dog at some point, but I would love her to make a new one for my family. Hmmm.
