Gertie "Bumpie Ball"

2007-07-27-bumpie ball.jpg

We see a lot of high design these days in the modern nursery, but sometimes it's the simplest things that bring baby the most joy. The Gertie "Bumpie Ball" is one of those "simple things." That's right, a ball- remember those?

It's great for indoor play and for all ages. It's so soft and the bumps make it easier to grasp. We've seen babies who love just having it tossed to them. Even when they miss, they get a laugh out of the soft bonk they get. The best part- it's under five bucks.

we have a few of these. annabel loves them. i think she prefers the "bonk" over actually catching them though. :) they come in different sizes too. the ones we have can also deflate which makes for easy stuffing into a bag and then can be blown easily back up with a sturdy straw that comes with the ball. great to have in the bottom of the stroller basket for impromptu park trips.

Gertie balls are wonderful-I love to give them as presents! One of the best things about them is since you inflate them yourself, you can leave them not fully blown up and then they are easy for a baby to hold. I haven't seen these bumpy ones before, but I have seen them in all colors, wild animal prints, even glo-in-the-dark. Fun and cheap!
