Felt Book Bag

2008-10-30-bookbag.jpg

The more we look at this bag, the more we like it. At first, it was the Japanese robot cotton linen and orange felt really caught our eye. We purchased the same robot fabric recently for a sewing project.

But then we read the details - gusseted bottom, an 18" drop long enough for adults to carry but just right for a 5 year old to sling across their chest -- and we're convinced. This felt book bag is handmade by the talented Etsy seller Meeabee.

Someone is getting a new library bag for Christmas!

I also bought this robot fabric and I LOVE it- I made a stroller pad for my son's stroller (the other side of it is Joel Dewberry's faux bois fabric in blue and green)

I found it at Purl Soho in NY. These are the Robot fabrics they currently have up on the site: http://www.purlsoho.com/purl/products/fabricdetail/3772
But they had the one pictured in the store even though it wasn't on the website. The manufacturer is Kokka Fabrics.

Thank you so much for highlighting this bag from my store. It is such a favourite of mine. I have just made a few more since they seem to be very popular. In fact my own kids have their eyes on them too!

I'm a New Zealander but I live in Japan. I am very lucky to be able to buy fabric straight from the source. But there are a lot of Etsy shops selling fabric plus http://reprodepot.com/, http://superbuzzy.com/ are great!

Thanks Ohdeedoh!

I don`t really like this bag to be honest. I don`t like the colors nor the models it have on the upper area. I saw one exactly like this while I was in some store, last summer during a Norwegian cruise line
