Pants in a Pinch

This is one of those product ideas that seems kind of goofy, but maybe we're underestimating the need for pants in a pinch. In college we worked at the campus nursery school and not a day went by that someone didn't need an extra pair of pants either due to a craft accident, a snack accident or, more likely, a bathroom accident.

So what exactly are Pants in a Pinch? They're a pair of cotton pants "smashed into a disc no bigger than the palm of your hand." The idea is that you would keep a pair in your purse, your car, your stroller, etc. so you've always got handy access to an extra set without taking up much room. They come in a variety of colors and in sizes from 3 months up to 6T. Here's a set in action:

Pants in a Pinch are $20/pair and, obviously, reusable. Do you carry extra pants with you?

Yep, I carry two pairs of pants, two pairs of socks, and two shirts. Twins, eh?

I usually have a stash of ratty jogging pants in my glove compartment for the kid -- and one emergency Pull-Up in case we're stuck somewhere that doesn't have a bathroom and he has to pee.

My first thought was, "I NEED those!" I always try to carry as little with me as possible, but at the same time I try to be prepared for everything, so those seem perfect for me. $20 isn't too bad for an emergency pair of pants, but I wonder if they have the same feel as those compressed washcloths that you see (which is pretty cheap and flimsy.) The kicker for me though, is that according to the website, shipping is an additional $10. If these things are packaged into a little disc, why in the world would it cost $10 to ship them?

A pair of stretchy toddler pants stuffed into a ziploc and compressed takes the same (ish) amount of space in the diaper bag, just roll the air out of them thoroughly. We'll stick with that method, I think.

I am with Doris Day, I usually carry a cheap pair of pants in a little bag. If you are already having to haul sippy cups, diapers, bottles, formula, bibs, toys, and two toddlers, what is an extra pair of pants?

I love this idea but, I wonder if they are worth 30 dollars a pair that seems like a lot. I carry a stocked diaper bag in the car but never bring it with me as i rarely need what's it in. this seems like a great idea to throw in the bottom of my purse.

These would have come in handy yesterday at the doctor's, where the boy had a poop blow out, and I didn't have a spare outfit (you'd think that after 3 months, I would plan ahead). Fortunately the pediatrician has a box of loaners on hand...

Overpriced, and I'm usually a tot gear shopaholic. I guess if you want to pay $30 for the ultracompression and cute red packaging...

Isn't the big problem that you can't squash it back to that size ones it is "expanded"?
I'd love it if you could really re-use it.

Oh my gosh, these are so amazing! If they are reusable though, can you get them back into the little disk once it is opened?
