Petunia Pickle Bottom Compact Journey Pack

pp-pack.jpgAfter two babies, we've still never owned a "real" diaper bag. Our excuse: the right one never came along. Most are a bit too large, too froufrou, and too single-purpose for us. But the new Compact Journey Pack by Petunia Pickle Bottom is not only just the right size and just our style, we can imagine using it for years after diapers are no longer in the picture.

pp-pack-bottom-2.jpgMeasuring a mere 12" by 12" and only 4.5" deep, this bag boasts an incredible number of features, including two exterior snap-off bottle pockets, a wide flat back exterior magazine pocket, a lined cell phone pocket, a water-resistant changing pad, and a monogrammed plastic wipes case in a coordinating color. (No word yet on a miniature Roomba for keeping baby's bum extra clean, but perhaps they're saving that feature for a later release.)

Made of felt with fabric lining and antique brass hardware, the Compact Journey Pack is available in olive green, gray, and black.

$136 at Design Public (There's also a full-size Journey Pack for $146.)

I've been pining over the big version of this bag since I found out I was pregnant almost 2 years ago!

If you've been pregnant for two years, you're really going to need the bigger bag!

I guess this is pretty great, but it seems kinda pricey to me.

that's a good looking bag. is the lining waterproof? i've been using my Dakine pack, but another great bag that isn't a diaper bag but would work great as one is by Toki Doki, http://shop.tokidoki.it/product.asp?ProdID=7772&CtgID=6803
