Phil & Teds' Vibe

2008-03-03-vibe.jpg

Are you feeling the Vibe? Every neighborhood has one stroller that seems ubiquitous. The Upper East Side of Manhattan may have their Bugaboos, but the Phil and Teds reigns supreme in our family-filled neighborhood in Brooklyn. So when we heard the company would be releasing a new stroller, the Vibe, we were all ears.

There has been so much speculation and secrecy surrounding the latest offerings from Phil and Teds (another new stroller, the Dash, is also coming down the pipe, but there's even less information about it), you'd think state secrets were at stake.

Although the store arrival date is still up in the air (possibly the end of March), finally a photo has been released. The Vibe looks to be a sleeker, chicer, cushier version of the Phil and Teds' Sport The best review of it we could find is at the blog, Strolling Along, a companion to online stroller purveyor, Let's Go Strolling, so we recommend you read their "preview review" and check back with them for updates.

As for us, we've got a $5 bet going with our husband to see who spots the first Vibe on the streets.

I'd totally trade my Sport for this if...

(a) the build quality is a bit better (we've had wheel and snap trouble with ours), and

(b) it is hard to tell from the picture, but can you lay the top seat flat for a baby and move the back seat to the front like you can on the sport??

I received my new Vibe the other day and am TOTALLY feelin' the Vibe! Right now we're using it as a single until baby #4 comes this fall... then the doubles kit will be oh so handy. (And yes you can have the doubles part on top or bottom. It even folds down with the doubles kit installed!)

As a mom of two boys 15 months apart, I have been very happy with the vibe. It handles better than any regular double you can find and fits into tight spaces. The wheels go over curbs and bumps. The sunshade is huge... but PT still needs shade for the back (after market products help) The kids are happy in it. The back seat in the toddler position on the front makes a perfect highchair.

I have an overview of the stroller on my Flicker.
