Solarveil Sling

2008-06-18-solarveil sling.jpg
This sling might take the place of your regular sling or wrap this summer. It's made of a breathable, cool material with water-friendly leg padding, AND it provides SPF 70+ sun protection.

It also comes with what they call a "Mama's Milk Protection Panel." The panel goes over baby's face to protect it and give you a way to nurse discreetly.

We'd definitely still apply sunscreen, but a little extra protection is always nice.

This is pretty pointless. At least to make it "water-friendly" is silly. You're not going to be swimming with a baby on your back.

Robyn, people don't actually swim with their babies on their backs but it's fantastic to be able to go into the water with a baby in a sling, particularly when you're wrangling a second child.

I was recently at a family-friendly resort with several moms in the pool with babies in slings - and a drink in a free hand. Bliss!

I too am struggling to envision this, all i can relate it too is how a dog will climb on top of your in the water and try and "stand" on you.

I would never wear a sling in the water, because I'm a klutz and would be afraid of drowning my child like an idiot.

I do like that it's breathable and sun-blocking, though.

I don't think I could handle my sling in the water for the same reason, I'd be afraid of drowning my poor baby. Besides that, I'm sorry, but the supposed "moms" in their product pictures are really off putting in my opinion. Any mom with two young kids does not look like that at the pool.

It would be more practical to be doing a front carry, and the child should be higher up on the wearer's body. That pouch is too big for the model wearing it, and so is the one pictured on the cool mom picks site.
